   CELL PHONE BASED WATER PUMP CONTROLLER



ABSTRACT:

        The project aims in providing a user friendly,reliable and automated  water pump control 

         for farmers.The project presents a cheap cellphone controlled water pump circuit which allows 

         farmers (user)    to switch ON their field water pump without practically visiting the spot,thus saving

        precious time and energy for the individual 

        Here the automation process is done through wireless technology. The IC CD4017 is the heart

          of the system.The design of the system is very sensitive and should be handled with utmost care.

          The major advantage of this device is,it is very user friendly and the status of the motor can be 

          known by a simple LED indication and moreover the device is very economical and can be bought available to 

          common man.

INTRODUCTION:

             Inconvenience in switching on a water pump installed in a remote farm is a common problem

              faced by farmers.

               Many circuits have developed to to solve this problem .Most of them are microcontroller based and

               highly  priced.  

               Here we present a cellphone based water pump remote controller that can be operated by a phone call.

               By calling the cellphone attached to the circuit,the pump can be directly activated from anywhere.



 THEME:  It often happens that we forget to switch off some electrical appliances while leaving home for a journey.

        This results in wastage of electricity and even the devices may get damaged due to overheating.

        Even if we remember that we have not switched off some devices,it may be difficult for us to come 

        back and switch them off.

            

            Also, if we are away from home we may have to turn on the lights at night.These are normally

            not possible in present condition.So, this project offers a solution for this problem by using a mobile  phone 

            A common electronic device like AC,tubelight fan,waetr pump etc. can be operated.


WORKING: 

  It works when we make a call to the phone attached to the circuit,the system gets activated with the call and 

Works like a latch system  i.e. once the the system is triggered it remains  ON until we make another call and off it.

THE DESIGN:

 To make this simple cell phone controlled water pump starter circuit for the farmers,the following materials are required :-

A featured phone( such as NOKIA 1280) the phone will be used as a modem and will permanently 

attached with control circuit.

The circuit doesn’t utilize complex parts rather works with ordinary parts such as IC CD4017 ,

Transistor BC547 (NPN),Capacitor 10 microF (63v),Resistors (220,1k,33k) Ohm, LED,

Diode 1N4007, Relay (5v,12v)



The circuit is cheap and well suited for the proposed application and for poor farmers 


CONCLUSION:

By developing this home appliances control system with its multi control feature which we can control with a cell phone by just a missed call, we have overcome the drawback of RF communication which have a limited range as this system can control the home appliances  from anywhere in the world. The main advantage of this system is that it is a simplest system with less complexity. A missed call will turn ON the device and again a missed call will turn OFF the device. Considering all the situations,this system is integrated for less energy consumption.
